Amy Stabeno

Amy Stabeno joined the board in September of 2012 and is the Statewide Microboard Coordinator of The Arc of Texas, a nonprofit organization that does statewide advocacy for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Amy moved to Austin in July of 2012 after living in New York City for several years. While in New York she worked as the Director of Social Services at a 202 bed municipal shelter for single male substance abusers. The program's primary goal was to find permanent supportive housing for the residents of their shelter. Amy graduated with a BA in English and a Spanish minor from Texas A&M University. She holds a Master of Arts in Intercultural Studies from Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, CA. Amy has a passion for social justice and making society a place where it is easier for people to be good.
